Virginia Tech features three main centers in the field of data and business analytics: The Discovery Analytics Center, the Center for Business Intelligence and Analytics and The Social Decision and Analytics Laboratory. These centers cut across multiple colleges and departments providing a multidisciplinary approach to their cutting-edge research. Their research has caught the attention of many companies and government agencies, DAC has projects sponsored by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity (IARPA). The Social Decision and Analytics Laboratory has developed close working relationships with local governments like Arlington County, while CBIA has partnered with leading companies in the industry such as Boeing, Deloitte and Leidos.
